Participant Registration

Advanced Registration for our 2019 event is through Brown Paper Tickets. Participants can also register in person on September 28th at the event starting point at Dan River Company, 1110 Flinchum Road, Danbury, NC. However, people that register the day of aren’t guaranteed a t-shirt or other challenge swag.

Please pick which opportunity to register for, either the hiking challenge or the trail running challenge.

Hiking Challenge

Registration Deadline to receive a T-Shirt is September 20th, 2019 at 11:59 pm.

The 2019 Reach the Peaks Challenge is the premier single day hiking challenge in North Carolina.  This years 7th challenge will be the toughest yet and offer a strenuous 11 mile world class trail route that will test participants from the banks of the Dan River to Moores Knob, the highest NC peak east of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  The 2019 Reach the Peaks Challenge will once again begin and end at the Dan River Company / Green Heron Alehouse in Danbury, NC and utilize Hanging Rock State Parks Indian Creek Trail, Campground Road, and Moores Wall Trail.  All participants should report to the Event START/FINISH location at the Dan River Company, 1110 Flinchum Road, Danbury on Saturday, September 28th, 2019.

CHECK IN for the HIKING CHALLENGE portion is scheduled from 8:15am until 10:15am. ALL Hiking participants are required to begin no earlier than 9:15am (after the Runners) and no later than 10:30am, NO EXCEPTIONS.

ADVANCED REGISTRATION is $30 per person for adults and $20 per person for youth (ages 18 and under) and ends on Thursday, September 26 at 11:59pm.  Day of Registration is $40 per person for adults, $30 for youth.  The HIKING CHALLENGE for the 2019 Reach the Peaks Challenge will be limited to the first 500 participants to sign up, whether Advanced or Day of.
ALL PARTICIPANTS will be required to sign a waiver the day of the event before participating.

Participants registering before September 20th at 11:59 pm will receive an event t-shirt. All participants will receive an Arts Place of Stokes swag gift bag with locally made products from Gravely Hill, Honduras Coffee, Hops and Nuts, and Field’s Edge in addition to pre/post hike beverages and fruit. Participants who complete the challenge will receive a commemorative embroidered patch.

Dog registration is $15 per dog, and can be completed by calling 336-593-8159. Each dog must be accompanied by a paying participant, and will receive a 2019 Reach the Peaks bandanna (and patch should they complete the hike). Only well-behaved dogs welcomed, with ALL dogs required to be on a leash throughout the entire event. Dog participants must bring documentation of most recent rabies vaccine and bordetella vaccine.

THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE (Unless Directed by Stokes Emergency Services to cancel due to natural disaster)

NO REFUNDS! (Unless cancelled under direction of Stokes Emergency Services)

Hanging Rock State Park is located at 1790 Hanging Rock Park Road, Danbury, NC and is the 2012 North Carolina State Park of the Year with over 7,000 acres of hiking trails, waterfalls, lake/beach/bathhouse, campground/cabins, Visitors center, and Dan River access.

Trail Running Challenge

 Registration Deadline to receive a T-Shirt is September 20th at 11:59pm.

Reach the Peaks is the premier trail running peak challenge in North Carolina. This years 7th challenge will be the toughest yet and offer a strenuous 11 mile world class trail route that will test participants from the banks of the Dan River to Moore’s Knob, the highest NC peak east of the Blue Ridge Mountains. THIS EVENT IS NOT A RACE. A Timer will be located at the START/FINISH line, but all trail running participants are responsible to record their own time. All participants should report to the Event START/FINISH location at the Dan River Company, 1110 Flinchum Road, Danbury, NC on Saturday, September 28th, 2019.

CHECK IN for the Trail Running Challenge portion is scheduled from 7:30am until 8:45am. ALL Trail Running participants are required to begin promptly at 9am. ADVANCED REGISTRATION is $30 per person for adults and $20 per person for youth (ages 18 and under) and ends on Friday, September 20, 11:59pm. Day of Registration is $40 per person for adults, $30 for youth. The TRAIL RUNNING CHALLENGE for the 2019 Reach the Peaks Challenge will be limited to the first 100 participants to sign up, whether Advanced or Day of.

Participants registering before September 20th at 11:59pm will receive an event t-shirt. Information for both events

PARKING is at the Stokes County Government Center 
(Parking Permits are for runners and dog participants ONLY)

YVEDDI Shuttle will run from 8 am to 10 am from Stokes Government Center to Dan River Co. and from 12 pm to 5 pm from Dan River Co. to Stokes Gov. Center.

WATER STATION / COMFORT STOP Located at Hanging Rock Parking lot between Indian Creek and Hanging Rock trailheads

FOOD TRUCKS (Pacific Rim Cuisine and Sliders Street Food) will be available for participants to purchase meals after the challenge
